Maureen has been adjudicating and mediating workplace disputes for many years, presently as a vice-chair at the Ontario Labour Relations Board, a role she has served in since 2021.
For 10 years prior to that, she was a vice-chair at the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, where the vast majority of matters she handled were related to employment in both unionized and non-unionized contexts.
Before that, she was a vice-chair at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal, adjudicating disputes regarding claims of disability and benefits under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.
Prior to her work in adjudication and mediation, Maureen worked for 14 years litigating labour disputes in both the public and private sectors, first as an associate, and then as a partner in a boutique labour and employment law firm in Toronto.
Before attending Osgoode Hall Law School, Maureen worked for several years as a French teacher.
Maureen provides labour and employment arbitration and mediation services. Her practical approach to both litigation and mediation has assisted hundreds of parties in seeking a just resolution to their dispute.
With realistic, creative, and sustainable settlements, she assists parties to meet goals that reflect their true interests through mediation.
As an adjudicator, she conducts fair-minded and respectful hearings and renders well-reasoned, thoughtful decisions.
